Winter wonderland table
We love winter themed table decorations! Not only during the festive christmas season, also in january dinner partys are on top of our to do list. Find ideas and easy diy tipps for an elegant winter table themed as a “winter wonderland”. Together with my number one partner in decor and floral things and also close friend Isabella Floristik {who is one of the greatest floristic masters in Austria} we created this wonderland dream table in our kitchen studio. Stylish, light colored and made with natural materials – this table will amaze your guests at the max.
Motto: white and beige combined with green. Those are also the main colors of our winter table. Not a material mix, but a clear table setting with plates and porcelaine all in one white and elegant series. White wine, champagne or other noble beverages are served in delicate martini glasses. The winter look is rounded up by white fabric napkins, grey and white salt and pepper pots. Lots of style, simplicity and elegance!
Additional we used natural materials as branches and twigs as well as pine cones and other pretty things that nature offers. Little “trees” in different sizes are a nice decoration idea when they are put directly on the table. Also wreaths made of rosemary give the table an elegant thus natural look. Candles are put into glasses that are filled with white sand.
We love vintage style! Wood boxes in light colors placed next to the table do not only offer places to sit on but also look nice and rustic – the guests will be impressed! Big white candles are also placed next to the table and onto the wood boxes. White lanterns {that are usually used for outdoor decorations} bring a nice flair and warm light into the dining room and will let the guests feel completely cosy. Attention: They may not want to leave… 😉
White and soft blankets are placed on the chairs for warmth and even more cosiness. Another nice DIY idea: light chains on the table lead to a very nice and welcoming atmosphere.
Of course we also arranged lots of snacks on the table so the guests don’t have to starve until the big dinner is served: also there the motto is: white and light! Marshmallows, small chocolate truffles or nuts are the perfect appetizer without leaving you too full to eat anymore afterwards.
What’s the most important thing for our winter wonderland table {besides the decoration}? Of course – the recipes! Easy and quick is the motto – because let’s be honest, no one likes to spend hours and hours in the kitchen… As a starter we serve a nice and easy winter salad with pomegranate, cream cheese and oranges. You can already prepare the salad hours before and leave it in the fridge. When the guetst are about to arrive – take it out and serve it with a freshly made marinade! With the salad we serve a piece of homemade bread.
For the main course we serve another festive and elegant dish that can be easily prepared before dinnertime: rolled turkey with a cream cheese filling. You can prepare this dish with any filling you like and we love this version with cheese and pesto inside and pasta as a side dish.
And what about the dessert? For dessert we need something special that will leave our guests with amazement. Our winter wonderland naked cake is the perfect little cake to serve on the white and shiny winter wonderland dinner table. Rosemary twigs are used as small “trees” to decorate the cake with and let it look like a real winter wonderland!
With this decoration and DIY ideas and this quick and easy recipes we wish you a nice dinner!
