Collection of personal data:
During a simple visit to a website, we only store access data within the framework of so-called server log files. This is data provided by your browser that is not personally identifiable, namely:

  • Browser type/ version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
  • Time and date of the server request

These data cannot be assigned to specific persons. These data are not combined with other data sources. For this purpose, user access to our websites is stored in the server log files, including the IP address. A conclusion on a certain person is not possible with the use of the data by us. The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable the website to be delivered to the user’s computer. For this the IP address of the user must remain stored for the duration of the session. The data is stored in log files to ensure the functionality of the website. In addition, the data serves us to optimize the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. An evaluation of the data for marketing purposes does not take place in this context. The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and log files is Art. 6 para. 1 lit f DSGVO.

Web hosting
We use services which we make use of for the purpose of providing this website and the services associated therewith with a partner. During hosting, personal data are processed, in particular the data from the log files, cookies, but also communication data from the contact forms etc. of affected persons. The purpose of the processing is to provide the online offer. This also justifies our legitimate interest in the processing of personal data pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the provision of the offer. Users have no right of objection. There is an agreement with the partner in accordance with Art. 28 DSGVO.

SSL Certificate
Cooking Catrin uses the so-called SSL security system (Secure Socket Layer) in conjunction with 256-bit encryption for data transfer. This technology offers maximum security and is therefore also used by banks for data protection in online banking, for example. You can see that data is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed display of a key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser.

Duration of storage
The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary to achieve the purpose for which they were collected. For the personal data from the contact form input mask and those sent by e-mail, this is the case when the respective conversation has ended or when a pre-contractual measure or a contract has been linked to the establishment of contact, when this has expired and there are no more legal retention periods.

Comment
When visitors write comments on the website, we also collect the information displayed in the comment form, the visitor’s IP address and the user agent string (which identifies the browser) to help detect spam.

An anonymized string (also called a hash) can be created from your email address and sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. You can find the privacy policy of the Gravatar service here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment has been released, your comment is publicly visible.

When you write a comment, it is saved indefinitely, including metadata. This way, we can automatically recognize and share follow-up comments instead of keeping them in a moderation queue.

Use of the „MailChimp“ shipping service
The newsletter is sent via „MailChimp“, a newsletter distribution platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. The e-mail addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their further data described in the context of these notes, are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp can use this data according to its own information to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimize the sending and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes, in order to determine from which countries the recipients come.

However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write them down or pass them on to third parties. We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement „Privacy Shield“ and thus commits itself to comply with EU data protection regulations. Furthermore, we have concluded a data processing agreement with MailChimp. This is a contract in which MailChimp undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process them on our behalf in accordance with their data protection regulations and in particular not to pass them on to third parties. The data protection regulations of MailChimp can be viewed here. https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/

Statistical surveys and analyses:
The newsletters contain a so-called „web-beacon“, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval are initially collected. This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our endeavour, nor that of MailChimp, to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our contents to them or to send different contents according to the interests of our users.

Online access and data management
There are cases, in which we direct the newsletter recipients to the web pages of MailChimp. For example, our newsletters contain a link with which the newsletter recipients can call up the newsletters online (e.g. in case of display problems in the e-mail program). Furthermore, newsletter recipients can subsequently correct their data, e.g. the e-mail address. In this context we pointed out that cookies are used on the websites of MailChimp and thus personal data are processed by MailChimp, its partners and service providers (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in the privacy policy of MailChimp. In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the possibilities of objecting to the collection of data for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European area).

Cancellation/Revocation:
You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. At the same time your consents to its dispatch via MailChimp and the statistical analyses expire. A separate cancellation of the dispatch via MailChimp or the statistical evaluation is unfortunately not possible. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.
